EuroHockey Championship Qualifier II 2026

The EuroHockey Championship Qualifier II tournaments bring European national field hockey teams to Helsinki to compete for promotion to the next level of European competition. The matches are played at the Velodrome, offering an international stage for top-level hockey.

In the women’s tournament, Finland faces Gibraltar, Luxembourg and Hungary. In the men’s competition, Finland competes alongside Lithuania, Malta, Gibraltar, Luxembourg, Greece and Hungary. The tournaments include pool matches followed by classification games that determine the final standings.

EuroHockey competitions are structured in multiple divisions (Championship I, II and III), allowing teams to move up or down based on their results. The Qualifier II level plays an important role in this system, providing teams with the opportunity to advance to a higher tier of European championships. 

For the Finnish audience, the event offers a rare opportunity to see the national teams competing in official international tournaments on home soil. 

Field hockey is one of the oldest and most widely played ball sports in the world, and international tournaments such as this bring together teams from across Europe.
