Global Club Nights (GCN) is a club series where people who work with and love music come together to celebrate music.
The free club nights start early, so children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. In addition to exciting music, the club also offers other fun activities suitable for children. Let’s start the weekend together!
Reditus Duo
One from Brazil, the other from Italy, the meeting place: Tallinn. It is in the Estonian capital that the Reditus Duo was born. The duo is composed of Marcelo Chacur Politano (compositions, guitar and traditional flutes) and Francesco Pio Russo (bassoon and saxophones). The two musicians, both working in Estonia on doctoral research projects at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn, present a sound exploration that transcends traditional genre boundaries through the encounter of classical, jazz and folk within a close intercultural dialogue.
The program includes compositions by Marcelo Politano inspired by South American and Estonian folk traditions, as well as moments of free improvisation. Some pieces serve as frameworks for improvisation, while others were composed to highlight specific mechanical or cultural characteristics of the instruments and the unique artistry of the performers. The concert further embodies a return to shared musical roots and the crossing of cultural and stylistic boundaries. This liminal musical space — between composition and improvisation, between genres and traditions — reflects the core of both musicians’ artistic research at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. and the Sibelius Academy. Marcelo Politano’s research explores intercultural music composition, while Francesco Russo investigates improvisational techniques on the bassoon.
Sayan
Sayan is a dynamic musical trio blending the rich traditions of Persian music with a global perspective. The ensemble features Kamanche, Qanun, and Percussion, creating a sound that bridges heritage and contemporary expression. Rooted in Persian musical traditions, Sayan is dedicated to preserving their cultural essence while exploring new dimensions through improvisation, collaboration, and original composition.
