Enjoy a guided tour to the Altered by War exhibition and explore the artworks linked to the themes of home, nature and friendship.
The Continuation War began in the summer of 1941 and ended in the autumn of 1944. As the front line advanced deep into the lost territories of Karelia, art was used to record a land and people shaped by the battles fought there. Nature, home and everyday life had been irrevocably changed.
The artworks provide a glimpse into the everyday life and moments that were a reality for wartime Finns. The trajectory of people’s own lives and those close to them changed in ways they could not have foreseen just a few years earlier.
Military Museum

The guided tours start at the Artillery Manege, next to the ticket booth. Please register for the tour, when you arrive at the museum. The duration of the tour is approximately 30 minutes and the tours can accommodate 20 people. The guided tour is included in the museum ticket price.
