The Hanasaari power plant is a familiar landmark in the eastern part of Helsinki city centre. The previously closed industrial area will be opened to the public on Helsinki Day. The opening celebration will feature a wide range of activities for city residents of all ages. Participants can look forward to music, dancing, food and a sauna.
The day’s programme:
10.00: Guided public tours of the power plant start. Register here
15.00: The event field programme starts, the food trucks open and the sauna shifts in the old staff building begin
15.30: Mayor Daniel Sazonov welcomes city residents
15.45–18.00: Open-air dance
18.00–19.00: DJ duo Paha Vaanii
19.00–20.00: Grande Mahogany performance
20.00: The event ends
The City encourages people to arrive to the event by public transport, on foot or by bike if possible.
