Helsinki Klezmer Kapelye is a collective of musicians who have been performing together for more than a decade.

Helsinki Klezmer Kapelye is the only klezmer band in Finland performing traditional klezmer music, preserving the old Jewish culture of Eastern Europe. HKK have given many concerts in Finland, for example in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, as well as at the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival.

The band have also performed abroad, e.g. at the Yiddish Summer Weimar festival in Germany and at a Klezmer festival in St. Petersburg, and have toured Lithuania.

The band released its first album in 2023. Klezmer music is the folk music of Eastern European Jewish people, dating back to medieval Europe where Jewish klezmer musicians toured the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe to play their music.

Klezmer is energetic dance music played at parties and in weddings. By the end of the 19th century, klezmer had become an advanced music style that drew inspiration from both within the Jewish culture and outside it.

Helsinki Klezmer Kapelye is a multicultural group of people who work in at least seven different languages: Finnish, Russian, English, Yiddish, Swedish, Hebrew and Turkish. The performers include immigrants from countries such as Turkey, the USA and Chechnya.
