Jukka Poika

The long-awaited new album Comeback by Jukka Poika, the leading name in Finnish reggae, brought an end to a ten-year hiatus from releasing albums and marked the start of a new chapter in the artist’s career.

In the artist’s own words, the album features “Finnish reggae in 2026” – a familiar, recognisable sound given a modern twist by its determined energy and international influences.

“The album features songs about being with yourself and with others, as well as a few lines about being a society. Sometimes a song starts from a thought, but often I let the rhymes take me to places I wouldn’t otherwise have explored,”, says Jukka Poika about the album.

In this new era, Jukka Poika sounds both familiar and fresh. The gentle groove is still there, but it has been joined by a sharper sound than before. The album’s first single, ‘Stand Back’, released in January, showed that the public is ready for this next chapter.

We can look forward to more music, new releases and an active live show schedule in the future.
