Metsässä soi – The Forest Rings is a multilingual, participatory and experiential contemporary theatre performance for children and the whole family!

It is an absurd adventure that stimulates the imagination of both children and adults in many ways.

The performance takes the audience into the Urban Rabbits’ absurd forest, which is full of music, different languages, play and unexpected flaps of wings. Come and join us on a journey into the world of the Urban Rabbits; an urban forest, a city, or perhaps a metro trip? Who will we meet along the way? At least Bul Bul the nightingale, for sure. And what is that big, furry, slow-moving creature? The show will end with a party for everyone – come along to drum and dance! Lee le leee!

In the performance, diversity, equality and non-discrimination are respected and valued both on stage and in the audience. The audience is given opportunities to take part in the performance, and everyone is free to participate in whatever way they wish.

The performance was prepared by Anne Korhonen, Marouf Majidi, Maria Myllykangas, Minna Savin and Outi Sädekallio-Snellman, using a group and process based devising method and in collaboration with children and young people.

Recommended age: daycare-aged children and their adults

The performance is in Finnish, Kurdish, Persian, Dari and Arabic. However, the performance is not language-based, so it can be enjoyed without any knowledge of these languages.
Duration: 30 min + shared play on stage

Tickets for the performance on 26 September can be purchased at lippu.fi. The morning performances on 23–25 September are intended for daycare groups. They are free of charge, and registration will open at kultus.hel.fi during August.
