Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall will open on Monday 2 February 2026 with guided tours and a special celebratory programme. 

The programme of the opening day, on 2 February, features free guest tours for the public, but visitors will not yet have the chance to swim or bathe in the sauna. During the guest tours, the swimming hall’s staff will show visitors around the renovated facilities on the 1st and 2nd floors of the building. The public will not be able to tour the building without a guide during the opening day. 

The tours start at 12 noon on the opening day, and last about half an hour at a time. The tours are mainly held in Finnish, but can also be held in Swedish and English depending on the situation. In addition to the guided tours, the opening day programme will feature a series of amazing performances perfectly suited to the iconic swimming hall setting.

12.00 Guided tours of the 1st and 2nd floors start 
12.15–12.30 performance by the male choir Laulu-Miehet 
12.30 Artistic swimming show by Helsingin Uimarit 
13.30–13.45 performance by women’s choir Diskantti 
13.45 Artistic swimming show by Helsingin Uimarit 
15.30–15.45 performance by women’s choir Diskantti 
15.45 Artistic swimming show by Helsingin Uimarit 
17.00–17.15 performance by women’s choir Diskantti 
17.15 Artistic swimming show by Helsingin Uimarit 
18.00 The swimming hall closes 

From Tuesday 3 February onwards, the regular separate swimming days for men and women will start at the pool on different days of the week. Women’s swimming days are on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Men’s days are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
