Róza El-Hassan: The non-violent revolution is feasible

Róza El-Hassan (Hungary/Syria, 1966, lives in Budapest) is a visually and morally courageous artist with a long history of addressing social and political injustice without sacrificing her artistic thinking to her innovative activism.

She has exhibited internationally since the early 1990s and represented Hungary at the 47th Venice Biennale in 1997.

Today she is best known for her wooden sculptures, drawings and ceramic figures. The solo exhibition at Kohta, her first in a Nordic country, includes works from all these categories – and works that don’t fit into any of them.

The exhibition is organised in collaboration with the gallery Longtermhandstand in Budapest.
