Founded in 1999 by Ryan O’Neil, Sleeping at Last rose to prominence after being discovered by Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins and later signed a record deal with the prestigious Interscope Records. Originally operating in the indie rock genre, the band have developed their sound into a more atmospheric and airy soundscape.
In 2011, Ryan O’Neil composed the song Turning Page for the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, after which his music started to be featured more and more on popular TV series such as Bones, Grey’s Anatomy, The Voice and Criminal Minds, in addition to numerous commercials. The acclaimed multi-instrumentalist is also known for his collaborations with numerous notable artists, such as Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ryan Reynolds.
Over the past decade, the prolific artist has worked on several large-scale concept projects. The Atlas series, comprised of several chapters, delves deep into grand themes ranging from the origins of the universe to humanity’s involuntary and conscious development. His other recent projects include the Astronomy series, which draws inspiration from celestial bodies and space phenomena, and Atoms, a series of small-scale compositions about wondrous moments in everyday life.
