Opening of the Kohti tuntematonta (‘Towards the unknown’) exhibition

Come and celebrate the opening of Illustrator Pasi Pitkänen’s new exhibition Kohti tuntematonta! During the event, Pitkänen will draw the enchanting snake train from his Ouroboros series, and snake sweets and juice will be served.

The exhibition invites you to dive into imaginary worlds built by the illustrations, where adventure, light and shadow alternate. The works showcase the power of illustration to evoke stories and challenge us to ask: do you dare to step into the unknown?

The exhibition is open from 13 August to 26 September 2026.
Please note! On Monday mornings, the exhibition space will be reserved for workshops for schoolchildren.

Pasi Pitkänen is a versatile illustrator, writer and graphic designer whose works have also achieved international success. He graduated from Aalto University and previously worked at Rovio Entertainment as a character designer. He now works as a freelancer and lives in Japan for part of the year.

Dancing in the City season closing dance & Improvised Soiree

At the closing party of the Dancing in the City season, you can enjoy a performance of Improvised Soiree by Tsuumi Dance Theatre, the last dance classes of the season, and dancing to live music.

The celebration will be kicked off by the Improvised Soiree performance, which combines improvised dance and music with the Finnish soiree tradition. During the performance, the improvised dance and music will surprise and captivate the performers and the audience alike. Come along and see how moods, tunes, worlds of movement and stories are created before the very eyes of the audience!

After the performance, there will be free dancing accompanied by live music. The dance will start with dance lessons, similarly to Dancing in the City events.

Entry to the events is free of charge!
