Timo Tuominen: Rendez-vous avec Brel

Timo Tuominen is performing songs by Jacque Brel at Finnish National Theatre.

The concert is full of the power of feeling and thought, the rough and tumble of life, interpretations that go under the skin, each of which is like a whole world in itself.

Tuominen has all his hundred Brel translations in his possession, which guarantees that no presentation is a copy of the previous one; the evening is surprisingly varied with the rarest gems of the chanson master ‒ alongside the most beloved classics that form the body of the show. 

Each chanson is like a play, a poignant encounter beneath the Parisian sky, a rendezvous with both friends and death; longing, love and joy, desolation, pain and laughter.
