MATKA 2027 – Post tour Helsinki
MATKA 2027 is Northern Europe’s largest travel industry event, held annually at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre (Messukeskus) in Helsinki, Finland.
After the busy trade days, stay on in Helsinki and get to know the city in winter. Helsinki Partners, the City of Helsinki’s destination marketing organisation, invites you on a three-day tour of the Finnish capital, with plenty of time to explore its culture, design and everyday life.
The 3 days programme (21-24 January) follows the footsteps of Alvar Aalto, Finland’s most celebrated architect and designer. You’ll visit places where his ideas took shape and hear the stories behind his work. Along the way you’ll see how design is part of daily life in Helsinki, from its buildings and interiors to the objects people use every day. Winter also brings Nordic food and Finnish sauna culture into focus. You’ll taste seasonal ingredients prepared by local chefs, and you’ll get to warm up in the steam the way Finns have for centuries.
