We’re choosing one Finnish Pamela who’ll spend a week in Toronto and the Ontario Region and bring back a handful of stories worth telling.
This is a casting call — not a competition, not a lottery.

Who we were looking for
Your first name is Pamela
You’re a resident of Helsinki, Finland
Both applicants (Pamela + 1) are at least 18 years old
You submit one shared application with a casting call video link
You’re curious, open-minded, and ready for a spontaneous adventure
You’re both private individuals — not representing a brand or company
You’re comfortable being filmed and sharing your journey online
Maybe you love design, nature, good food; or just a great story
The selected winner will share their Swap story through MyHelsinki’s marketing channels. Some parts of the trip will be filmed. Exact details will be confirmed with selected participants. This is a casting call with an active selection process — we choose you.

It started with an invitation. Helsinki asked Pamela Anderson — who has spoken openly about reclaiming her Finnish roots — to come to Helsinki. She hasn’t gone (yet). But the attempt sparked something unexpected: a friendship with Canada. And once that friendship was made, it felt wrong to only look in one direction. We wanted to make this a true cross-Atlantic adventure: a swap in the real sense of the word. So we opened it up to Pamelas on both sides of the Atlantic.
We use the term casting call deliberately: this is not a competition, not a lottery, not a free trip given away at random. There is an active selection process and a human reading every application.
Yes. We’ve chosen our Pamela and will contact her directly. If you applied and haven’t heard from us, thank you for putting your name forward — we read every entry.
Anyone named Pamela who is 18 or older, resident in Helsinki, and either holds a valid passport or can obtain one before the agreed travel window. You don’t need to be a professional photographer, influencer, journalist or anything in particular. You just need a voice worth listening to.
Applications closed on 5 July. Our selected Pamela has been contacted directly. Travel takes place from 15 August to 22 August 2026.
Everyone who applies will hear from us by 11 July. Keep an eye on your inbox, we’ll be in touch whether you’re heading to Helsinki or not.
We’ll take care of the flights, accommodation and a few curated experiences to get you started. The rest of the week is entirely yours. The best version of Toronto is the one you find at your own pace, on your own terms. To help you along, we’ll share our personal recommendations.
