The Merirasti chapel was designed by architect, Kaarlo Leppänen together with structural designer, Lauri Mehto. The chapel was completed in 1993. The altarpiece is the window artwork, Elämänpyy ja kyyhkynen (Tree of life and dove), by Kaarlo Leppänen.
