Birds of Nuuksio

Nuuksio and the National Park has a large variety of resident birds. Besides our smaller feathered friends there are also Owls, Ofsprey and even regular visits of the White-tailed Eagle. Besides recognition by sight we will also listen to the sounds and find out who is singing to who, and why?

During this forest walk we will learn to spot the main details in bird anatomy to get an idea of the species that we see. Together with the sound you will be able to make a fairly good recognition. With different types of forests along the way we will also be looking at different birds.

Take a look up and you will see much more than the path in front of you. Learn the bird – it´s fun!

Meetingpoint: Haltia Lake Lodge, Solvallanrinne 2, Espoo. Opposite the Finnish Nature centre Haltia. You are able to get on location by taking the trains U, E or X to Espoo Centre. From here you can continue with Espoo city bus 245(A), that departs from the pier 32. When buying the tickets: Haltia Lake Lodge is located in the HSL area C.

Additional information: Difficulty level is easy walking if forest or paths. You will need to be able to walk aprox. 3 hours up and down in forest paths. Remember to wear clothing & gear according to weather. Minimum of 5 persons and maximum of 15 persons. Price is including a guided tour. Weather conditions can affect the routing or arrangements

Cancellation policy: A possible cancellation must be made 48 hours before the beginning of the hike. If cancellation is made closer than 48 hour before the hike, Haltia Lake lodge has the possibility to take the full amount of the hike.
