Kauppatori (Market Square), 00170 Helsinki
Organiser: JT-Line Oy
Duration: 3 hours

Take a charming trip on an authentic paddle-wheel ship to Korkeasaari Zoo – the island of animals. Meet the Amur tigers and snow leopards, Finnish bears and wolverines, and many more!

Korkeasaari is a unique zoo located on an island, a 15-minute ferry journey away from Helsinki Market Square. It was founded in 1889 and is one of the world’s oldest zoos. On the way to the island, you get to experience the wonderful archipelago of Helsinki, with a few sights on the way, such as the Finnish fleet of icebreakers.

At Korkeasaari Zoo you can learn more about all the animals with the help of a zoo guide. The zoo is home to 150 animal species and the zoo’s mission is to conserve biodiversity. Korkeasaari keeps and breeds endangered animals together with other zoos to secure a future for the species.

After visiting the zoo, you can enjoy a cup of coffee, tea or juice from ship´s onboard cafeteria on the way back to the city center.

Both the zoo and the vessel are easily baby carriage and wheelchair accessible.
