Arja Saijonmaa’s first-ever performance on the Espa Stage!

Long-term favourite Saijonmaa has once again taken centre stage in Finland’s music scene, after joining the star-studded cast of Yle’s Elämäni biisi music programme in 2021.

Saijonmaa is a varied singer-actress, whose career kicked off in the 1960s. Her international career opened in the early 1970s, when Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis signed her as the soloist for his world tour. Theodorakis’ music remains a significant part of Saijonmaa’s repertoire, which will also be heard on the Espa Stage during Midsummer Week.
