At the ‘Musica Sacra’ concerts, the Cantores Minores boys' choir wants to maintain the traditions of the church music choir concert.

At the ‘Musica Sacra’ concerts, the Cantores Minores boys' choir wants to maintain the traditions of the church music choir concert. As a counterweight to the annual large works with orchestral accompaniment in these ‘Musica Sacra’ concerts, the choir mainly performs church music composed for boys' choirs. There can also be music suitable for the topic, which is not really church music, however. The focus is on a cappella music, i.e. works performed without accompaniment. However, there are also, for example, works with organ accompaniment. In addition, soloist organ works will be heard. In the coming years, the repertoire will extend from Gregorian chant to the music of our time until. In our first ‘Musica Sacra’ concert on Sunday 23 April 2023 at 18:00 we will perform e.g. music composed by Heinrich Schütz, J.S. Bach, Frank Martin and Tapani Länsiö (world premiere).
