Film Festival Vinokino Helsinki 2023

Vinokino, the only Finnish film festival only screening LGBTQ+ films, is coming to Helsinki in November with the theme of Love. Friendship. Happiness.

This year we feature films from ten different countries, giving the audience a chance to dive into a captivating lineup of thought-provoking and heartwarming queer films from around the world. From powerful documentaries to groundbreaking narratives, the program celebrates the richness, diversity and joy of LGBTQ+ storytelling.

In a world of increasingly rigid values, the visibility, acceptance, and rights of minorities are not a given, and the struggle for equality continues. The Vinokino Film Festival will, now and in the future, amplify the voices of the LGBTQ+ community, ensuring that mainstream media is as diverse as possible. 

The festival is committed to promoting inclusivity and representation in film, and in the program, the LGBTQ+ community will find characters they can relate to in a world that still predominantly adheres to heteronormative standards. All voices deserve to be heard and celebrated.
