A Spanish flamenco show full of excitement, passion and virtuosity

The esteemed Barcelona Flamenco Ballet will be bringing its fresh dance spectacle Flamenco Luxurîa to Savoy Theatre in October.

In English, the name Luxurîa means lust and passion. The piece was created by the award-winning dancer and choreograph David Gutiérrez, who plays the protagonist who is forced to choose between love, freedom and passion. The leading female role is performed by dancer Montserrat María Martínez. After its premiere last year, Luxurîa has already found success in countless countries, such as the United States, South Korea, Italy and of course Catalonia, Spain.

David Gutiérrez’s choreographies combine traditional and modern flamenco. His roots strongly are planted in the heart of Catalonia, Barcelona, where he began his dance studies at four years old. Highlighting the Catalonian culture is one of the most important aspects of Gutiérrez’s work.

The ensemble of seven dancers and five musicians will fill the Savoy stage with spectacular dance numbers, stirring Flamenco music and stunning outfits. Audiences will get to enjoy an entertaining and powerful performance that they will remember for a long time.
