Symphonie du Concert Municipal des Honorables Villes de Kotka et d’Helsinki

Symphonie du Concert Municipal des Honorables Villes de Kotka et d’Helsinki
Festive music from the 18th century from France and Sweden

Kymi Sinfonietta has started a collaboration with Ensemble Nylandia, which enjoys great respect in the field of Baroque music. The colorful harmony of the traditional orchestra and Nylandia, which specializes in Baroque music, creates a fresh and versatile interpretation of the music that was heard at the wedding of the Count of Artois, the future King of France, Charles X, in 1773.

The orchestral sets containing works by composers popular in France at the time were put together by composer François Francœur. The concert will also include excerpts from the Swedish festive music of the same time and from a dance sequence found in the sheet music archive of the court composer family Düben, which imitates André Campra's opera L'Europe Galante, which was in fashion at the time.

The concert will be led by Kymi Sinfonietta's concertmaster Raymond Cox and Ensemble Nylandia's artistic director Matias Häkkinen.

Overtures, arias, gavottes, minuets, bourrées, chaconnes, etc.
by composers F. Francoeur, J-P Rameau, A. Campra, H.M. Berton, G. Düben and J.V. Meder.
