What is nature, and how can man-made creations coexist with it?

The solo exhibition by the award-winning artist Didi NG Wing Yin, who specializes in woodworking, explores the relationship between humans and nature in a multifaceted manner through distinctive sculptural and functional furniture and objects.

"The working process begins to slow down while refining my work. Eventually, the final touches are quiet and focused on details. I enjoy the changes and contrasts throughout the process, from noisy to quiet, from fast to slow, and from rough to refined. It feels like building a relationship with the wood."

Didi NG Wing Yin (HK/FI) is a Helsinki-based artist and designer, born in Hong Kong. After completing a Master of Arts degree in Interior Architecture at Aalto University in 2023, he specialized in woodworking, creating both sculptural and functional furniture and objects. He was chosen as the Rising Star of the Year at the Scandinavian Design Awards 2024.
