At the Muksut Mäppää drawing workshop, children get to create a piece to be projected on the walls of Malmitalo Cultural Centre. At the same time, we explore how creating things affects young artists.

Audiovisual Art Festival Reflektor examines what kind of effect creating art and seeing your own work on a large surface has on children. Participants get to draw their own piece on a template, and their works will be projected on the Malmitalo facade in autumn for the Cultural Centre’s 30th anniversary.

After seeing their own piece, the creators must answer a few questions, and these interviews will be used as a basis for a report on the effect that creating art has on children.

The study is carried out fully anonymously, and we hope that participants agree to answering these few questions after seeing their works in autumn.

The results of the study will be published on the channels of the Central Union for Child Welfare and Reflektor. The Muksut Mäppää drawing workshop and study is open to children aged 9–12.

Age recommendation: 9–12, with parents
