Feelings Forms | Exhibition by stage and costume designer Ildikó Balla

The exhibition at Galleria U features a selection of Ildikó Balla's personal favourites from her decades-long career as a set and costume designer. The exhibition follows the creative process in the imaginary world created by the artist. Costume designs for performances using different techniques, scale models of sets and photographs of the theatre performances based on them, as well as original costumes, guide the viewer through this magical process of creation.

The exhibition is curated by Vivien Boranyák.

"I graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts with a major in stage and costume design. During my career I have designed sets and costumes for theatre and opera performances, TV series and films in Hungary and other European countries.

I have had the good fortune to work with internationally renowned directors such as Jiří Menzel, Egon Savin and Sergei Maslobojshchikov, as well as with well-known Hungarian theatre-makers, including Miklós Szinetár, István Iglódi, Attila Vidnyánszky, Péter Rudolf and Csaba Kiss.

Over the years, my career has developed, to my great pleasure, to the point where I have been able to create costumes in the style of different historical periods. My dreams, in turn, have been realised by Hungary's best professionals, resulting in numerous stunning creations."
