Finnish jazz pianist & composer Teemu Kekkonen is a rising star in the European scene. Thoughtfully crafted compositions, cinematic harmonies, captivating grooves and familiar melodies are the cornerstones of his music. 

Teemu Kekkonen Trio presents music from the pianist’s debut album Here/There (released Sep 16 2022). Behind the seven original pieces are real-life stories from the past ten years.

Fresh from his studies at the famed Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Teemu leads his trio through a set of original music drenched with charm, sensitivity and the style of melodic interplay which put Scandinavian Jazz on the map. Whilst the music gives more than a passing nod to modern influences like Chick Corea, Vijay Iyer and The Bad Plus, Kekkonen’s openness to everything from Ravel to pop, gospel and traditional Finnish music provides a highly individual twist on the classic trio format, for an experience that is equally calming and exhilarating.
