Visit Pihlajasaari on Maritime Helsinki Day 12 June 2024

On Maritime Helsinki Day 12 June 2024, children (0–17 years) travel for free on the waterbus from Merisatama and Ruoholahti to Pihlajasaari and back!

Pihlajasaari is a beautiful island habitat only a 10-minute boat trip away from Ruoholahti or Merisatama in Helsinki. In addition to sandy beaches, beautiful coastal rocks and wonderful maritime landscapes, the island also has diverse nature and beautiful old villas, one of which houses a restaurant. A nature path of about two kilometres runs around the island and is marked in the terrain with numbered poles. Information and stories about the history of the island are dotted along the trail.

Pihlajasaari also includes three freely available cooking shelters with potable water and firewood ready for use. The island also has two saunas that can be booked in advance.
