Programme of the day

17.00–18.00 Aili Järvelä
Aili Järvelä, a multidisciplinary musician and music maker, has captivated audiences and critics alike with her ability to fluidly move between genres and ensembles. She is also known for her insightful and moving song lyrics. Järvelä’s solo work has been widely awarded and recognised: the album VUORI brought her Teosto and Emma nominations and the Album of the Year title from the Indie Awards. Järvelä’s strong stage charisma and lyricism make her live performances unforgettable experiences.
At Malmi Summer of Events, Järvelä will perform with her four-person ensemble.

19.00–20.00 Antti Paalanen
Antti Paalanen is a unique accordionist who combines two-row accordion melodies, techno and throat singing into a rapturous experience. The accordionist has toured in Finland and around the world, but rose to the attention of the wider Finnish public at the latest in the finale of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu with his distinctive song, Takatukka, placing second in the competition. Paalanen has also become known on social media for his surprising cover videos, which have attracted millions of views.

On stage, Paalanen’s one-man band creates a massive mix of bass, harmony and rhythm that captivates the audience. His gigs often end with his hypnotic melodies remaining in the audience’s minds and on their lips long after the music has ceased.

Entry to the events is free of charge!
