Bresley Mansio: Life in Colour
Oct 22 – Nov 3, 2026
Uudenmaankatu 19-21, 00120 Helsinki
Life in Colour is an exploration of colour, light, emotion, memory, and belonging. Through vibrant hues and expressive imagery, Bresley Mansio invites visitors to experience colour not only as a visual element, but as a language through which feelings, memories, and cultural roots can find expression.
The exhibition also invites visitors to discover the tradition of Día de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead. This meaningful celebration honours loved ones who have passed away while keeping their memory present through flowers, photographs, candles, favourite objects, and offerings arranged on an altar known as an ofrenda.
The altar creates a space for remembrance, connection, and reflection. Its colours and objects carry personal stories, symbolising the continuing bonds between the living and those who are remembered.
Life in Colour does not seek to define identity or offer a single answer to the question of belonging. Instead, it opens a space for reflection and personal interpretation.
The paintings and the altar invite visitors to consider their own relationships with colour, culture, memory, and emotion.
A particular shade may recall a place, a person, a childhood memory, or a feeling that has remained unnamed. Each visitor may discover something different, shaped by their own experiences and connections.
