Saa kiljua
Saa kiljua are a melodic, furious and mischievous punk band from Oulu. The band’s musical bucket contains a mixture of many different ingredients, with years of friendship and shared playing experience serving as the yeast of the brew. In August 2025, the band released their second album Ihmisroska, the LP and CD editions of which sold out within a few months.
The digital singles Hei äijät and Ei tuu tylsää made Spotify’s list of Finland’s 50 most viral songs, and the readers of Soundi ranked the album as the ninth-best Finnish album of 2025. The band’s lyrics deal with topical issues such as sexual harassment, current politics and mental health problems – while maintaining a positive and energetic undertone. Live shows by Saa kiljua have a wild but loving atmosphere that is easy to dive into.
19.00–20.00:
Nyrkkitappelu
Since their first live show, the punk rock band Nyrkkitappelu have proclaimed themselves to be Finland’s biggest rock band – and for good reason. Catchy melodies, electrifying guitar riffs and energetic shows have earned the band an ever-growing audience. The band’s new album was released in February, preceded by three singles: the punk rock anthem Nosta sun nyrkkis ilmaan! and the rocking Soronoo and Maistuu.
The band’s previous albums Isosta Nyrkistä Naamaan and Ongelmanuorten Sävellahja reached the top ten of the album charts and garnered glowing reviews. The music of Nyrkkitappelu is influenced by Scandi rock, Finnish rock classics and the diverse cultural heritage of Tampere – or Manse, as the city is colloquially known as. The band are known for their fierce live energy, which will now be on full display at the opening weekend of the Summer of Events. Line-up: Hepe (vocals), Luca Di Giovanni (drums & vocals), Juha Pöllänen (guitar & vocals), Jee Jee Lavone (bass & vocals).
