The Larufest Jazz Club

What is the deepest essence of jazz? A groove that goes straight to your feet? A feeling, a sound? There is probably no single right answer. 

Jukka Perko PreBoppers approaches these questions by playing traditional jazz and American evergreen tunes as if they were their own. At the same time, they offer their answer: jazz is joy, swing, shared searching and discovering — and above all, sharing all of this with the listeners.

If there is one thing that can be said with certainty about saxophonist Jukka Perko, it is his undeniable ability to create musical experiences. 

Perko learned to play as he learned to speak — by listening and imitating. He describes his attitude toward playing and composing as a balancing act between striving for excellence and accepting imperfection.
