Huvila’s club night inspires dancing to the tune of two artists with a strong cult following

Huvila’s club night inspires dancing to the tune of two artists with a strong cult following, when acid techno group Business City from Lahti and feminist collective Bämä, who combine hip hop and club music, take to the stage.

Achieving rocket-like fame with the recent song Seppo Räty Berghainissa, Business City combines an apologetic fuck the world attitude with a harsh techno beat. There are occasional nods to 1980s Finnish iskelmä music, for example, the group’s version of Nisa Soraya’s song Anna rakas raju hetki, which was also covered by Kikka.

The evening kicks off with Bämä, who challenge the patriarchy and heteronormativity of Finnish rap. With a core consisting of the artists Nelli Milan, Helena Routa, satu and Tiia Karoliina, Bämä is a feminist collective combining pop, rap and club music.
